Falling Prices Hit Resource Stocks

Trade on the sharemarket yesterday was marked by a sizeable switch into industrial stocks as falling commodity prices caused investors to turn their backs on the resources sector. ICI Australia has taken the shine off its forthcoming profit result by warning stockbroking analysts to rein in forecasts because of difficulties in its plastics and agriculturaldivisions.
